The ample fruit in this wine makes it a great partner for well-spiced dishes like stewed lamb with cumin, a classic Baba Ghanouj cooked in the coals of a grill, or even some simly grilled veggies with plenty of fresh herbs and olive oil.
Tasting Notes
The Côtes de Bourg is certainly not the most well-known of the famous villages of Bordeaux, historically lending its grapes to improve the quality of its neighbors. However, the rare extremely-varied soils here, combined with higher elevation make the wines of this beautiful countryside entirely unique. The Expression opens up with remarkably rich red and blackcurrant, and a pleasant whiff of fresh mint, moving to a palate that's equally generous, but also gentle. The finish is serious, with some classic elements of pencil shavings, and a enough tannin to stand up to meatier dishes. A great example of the new era of Bordeaux that we all get to enjoy!
