A fabulously versatile pairing partner, enjoy the Melissae beside more substantial fare than your typical white wines. We think pork with a creamy mustard sauce, grilled mushrooms with generous glugs of olive oil, or a classic salmon with sorrel sauce are all excellent ideas.
Tasting Notes
While we love orange wine for its vibrant aromas, unexpected flavors, and of course, unusual color, it's not often that we find examples that harken back to the more traditional, classic wine flavors. This bottle from Aphros is somewhere between an expressive orange wine and a developed Chenin Blanc from the Loire or South Africa. With a nose that's rich caramel and minerals, the palate is more sheer, with light citrus notes and the same piercing minerality.
