A divine pairing with various antipasti like marinated olives and artichokes, tomato a la caprese, and tinned fish, this wine works best at the beginning and end of a long Italian meal. Tasting Notes
High up in the foothills of the Lessini Mountains, the vignerons of Meggiolaro grow Durella and Gargenega, almost all of it for the production of sparkling wines. Although these wines come from the same general region that Prosecco does (Veneto), they could not be more different. This particular wine is fermented in the bottle, where the seal of the crown cap helps to trap the CO2 occuring from the fermentation - it has a yeasty breadiness, as well as a strong mineral streak that quietly speaks to its sheer elegance.
