Enjoy this unique wine on its own as a fuller aperitif, or alongside some classics from the Rueda region like Huevos Rotos con Chorizo, a simple dish of roasted potatoes and chorizo topped with an over easy egg, Sopa Castellana, a unique garlic soup made with bread and also served with a poached egg, or razor clams served with wild garlic.
Tasting Notes
Verdejo is one of Spain's loveliest white grapes, and it can be made in many unique styles, from bright floral examples, to richer wines coming from old, weathered vines. The Vega de Tera certainly falls in the latter character, with a dense nose of sweet citrus and vanilla, while the palate is full, and mouth-coating with some welcome freshness in the finish.
