Of all the commonly-held beliefs in the world of wine, the one that we think has gotten between the most people and a delicious bottle is the idea that Riesling is inherently Sweet. While this may be true of many wines on grocery store shelves, the current trends in the German wine world have made dry the new normal when it comes to this misunderstood grape. And dry Riesling is one of the most delicious wines we know. This example, coming from the long-lived Lay estate in Baden is rich with fruit and floral aromas, along with a classic slaty minerality. It's a richer style than what may be typical of the grape, but we think you'll love the complexity of this wine, which also happens to be made without sulfites.
