There's nothing better to pair with a Grüner than schnitzel and cucumber salad, but this wine will do better with non-Austrian fare, too. Spaghetti alle Vongole or a classic Salade Niçoise would be simply delightful!
Tasting Notes
Grüner Veltliner is a grape that wears many styles well. While traditionally made in a zippy, refreshing style that accommodates the wine's natural acidity, citrus, and mineral flavors, the grape also lends itself to wines with a bit more heft. The Green Fresh is a nice mid-point between those two styles. With a vibrant nose of trademark white pepper and underripe pear, the palate is dry and crisp with plenty of mineral elements, but also enough fruit weight to stand up to plenty of foods.
