The mind jumps to Steak Florentine, basically a huge bone-in cut cooked over an open flame and coated in olive oil with plenty rosemary, as the perfect pairing for this wine, but its charming affect will do well with lighter preparations too. A mushroom bolognese over papardelle, or a milk-poached pork chop will be excellent ideas too.
Tasting Notes
There's something about Italian red wine that's so distinct. This wine can attribute it's light balsamic and rustic earthen nose to a light winemaking touch, and traditional methods, while the palate's sweet, soft fruits, and bright, crisp finish are vintage elements of Tuscany's favorite grape, Sangiovese. This is a great wine for a family dinner, or something even a bit more serious and formal.
