The acidity in a wine like this really welcomes pairing with something that has a bit of richness to cut through - a classic pork schitzel with lemon, a nice, rich fish in butter (think something like salmon, halibut, or monkfish), or even a richer salad, like a Chicken Caesar, will all be excellent.
Tasting Notes
Riesling from Pfalz in Germany has been growing in reputation for years now - specializing in dry wines, this region gets a bit more sun, and thus a bit more ripeness in the wines than in the Mosel. This is a great example of how unique and delicious dry Riesling can be, with definitive slaty mineral notes on the nose, and even a touch of the classic, appealing petrol - the palate is exceptionally bright and acidic, with some tasty citrus elements, and a brisk finish.
