The light florals and citrus in this wine will do well with delicately cooked fish and shellfish, as well as heavier, creamy seafood dishes too like Lobster Thermidore. Roasted or grilled seasonal vegetables are an excellent idea too, while we feel this wine is an almost perfect match for spicy coconut curries or tingly szechuan fare.
Tasting Notes
Muscat and Gewurztraminer are two of those grapes that need a deft winemaking touch to render them delicious - often, the florality of these two varieites can be overbearing and kind of one note, but this floral white from Kristinus is clean and crisp and delicious. Leaning towards lemon and orange blossom on the nose, the palate brings in some real weight and heft from extended contact with the lees, while the finish brings it home with zesty citrus elements and fabulous acidity. An impressive wine that can suit many palates and situations.
