The classic Burgundy pairing for Pinot Noir are either snails or andouillettes (a local sausage), and this wine will do very well with both, but also anything coming off the barbecue that's not too heavy. Think grilled mushrooms, barbecued bratwurst and chorizo, or a classic filet medallion will all do excellently.
Tasting Notes
New Zealand has quickly joined the ranks of Burgundy and Oregon as one of THE places to find Pinot Noir. With a touch more ripeness than what's found in France, this wine sets off aromas of pure black cherry with a touch of sweet vanilla. The palate here is just as rich, with chocolate and earth joining the party, and finishing without too much tannic grip. A fine Pinot from the land down under. RIPE RICH APPROACHABLE DENSE AROMATIC
