Nothing goes better with Syrah than game, so next time you have a haunch of rabbit or a duck breast to prepare, break this bottle out! It's also a great match for dishes with bacon and spice, so a classic Bouef Bourguignon or Spaghetti Carbonara will be quite nice as well.
Tasting Notes
Syrah is a darling of the wine world for much the same reason that Pinot is. It has a unique, almost-unmistakable aroma and can be made in a variety of styles, all while elegantly reflecting the soil where it's grown. The "Les Aoutres" opens with signature notes of slaty minerality, tobacco, and red fruit, while the palate is more lively and delicate, with plenty of ripe black fruit and even a touch of orange peel. The finish is meaty and substantial, able to stand up to a variety of proteins.
