Cabernet Franc's inherent herbaceousness matches well with fresh herbs, and well-spiced dishes. The Perruches will perform excellently beside a steak with a classic chimichurri, chicken roasted with lots of rosemary and thyme, or a risotto made with wild mushrooms and herb oil.
Tasting Notes
There is something so beguiling about a well-made Cabernet Franc from the Loire Valley. On the nose, you can find all manners of dark fruit notes, and even a bit of milk chocolate, but on the palate, these wines are always fresh, vibrant, and eminently drinkable. This cuvée from one of our longest-standing partners, Gérald and Anne-Claire Vallée of Domaine de la Cotelleraie, is immediately entrancing. The nose is pure blackberry with just a touch of minerality, while the palate is juicy, generous, and intrigues with a subtle earthy note.
