A great example of how buttoned-up a great Gamay can be, this Coteaux Bourguignons from Domaine du Penlois has fabulous sweet red fruit on the palate, a lovely bouquet of violets and dark flowers on the nose, and a finish that's zippy enough to help balance food. It's a wine that will likely keep very well thanks to the balance of acidity and tannins, and the ample fruit weight, and will be just perfect for Thanksgiving, either this year or next.
