While one might expect red wines from Austria to have a bit more austerity and bite than, say, their French counterparts, the Frontier from Grüber Roschitz shows just how lush and vibrant these wines can be. With a nose of minerals and herbs, along with dark fruit, the palate is bright and fresh, with a healthy lick of tannins, a deft touch of oak, and a clean finish.
