A wine like this is great on its own, but it also begs for some barbecue. Grill some mushrooms for a vegetarian pairing, or accompany with grilled chicken, prawns, or pork chops, with light, olive oil-laden salads with plenty of herbs.
Tasting Notes
Carignan is often referred to as a "structure" grape, but this lighter rendition from Riberach shows just how much charm this once-Spanish varietal can have. Opening with a nose of rocky minerality and light intimations of cherry and cranberry, the palate is surprisingly expressive with a beautiful core of red fruit.
