Chenin and goat cheese are a great, traditional match, although this wine will do excellently alongside a variety of cooked seafood preparations such as a poached white fish with beurre blanc, scallops cooked in brown butter, or even oysters Rockefeller for an American twist.
Tasting Notes
Chenin Blanc is the hallmark white grape of South Africa, and we love how many different expressions they've come up with for this classically-Loire variety. "Foudre" is a large oak vessel that winemakers will use to give wines a bit more roundness and body thanks to its small pores and the bit of oxygen they let in. This Chenin begins with vintage notes of honey and citrus, along with just a touch of green apple and caramel, while the palate is supremely bright and crisp, though not without a bit of weight to it, too!
