Tasting Notes
Chardonnay is often thought of as one of the great wine grapes of the world for one big reason: it is entirely mutable. It's a grape that shows terroir with great fidelity, and it takes a skilled winemaker to render it well. This wine, from the rare volcanic soils of the Ardèche, opens with gorgeous ripe citrus fruit intermingled with a smoky minerality, while the palate is bright, with the same citrus fruit, and a tense, mineral finish.
