The savory nature of Fiano makes it a great pairing for briny, shellfish dishes like moules marinieres, grilled clams, or oysters on the half shell. This same savory quality makes it a great match for salads with lots of nuts and seeds, as well.
Tasting Notes
Fiano is hardly grown anywhere outside it's homeland in the Southwest of Italy in Campania and Puglia, and probably because those extremely hot, dry conditions can't be replicated. Opening with attractive notes of white peach, yellow flowers, and Fiano's trademark minerality, on the palate it's bone dry, full, and fresh on the palate, with a long, mineral finish.
