A perfect aperitif wine, the Schwedhelm will be great beside both plainer and more tropical, exotic flavors. Think either fish and chips, or something like a rich Goan curry, or a refreshing niçoise salad with lots of just-cooked seasonal vegetables.
Tasting Notes
The Schwedhelm winery overlooks the ancient winegrowing town of Zellertal in Germany's Pfalz region. Grown on a variety of extremely poor, limestone soils, the wine is a veritable laser beam in terms of its focus and intensity. Beginning with bright citrus and summer melon notes, the palate is brisk, refreshing, and classy, with plenty of fruit weight to spare.
