Tasting Notes
The Monteversa Versavò Bianco is a rare wine based on the Manzoni Bianco grape, a variety that was obtained by crossing Riesling with Pinot Blanc within Italy's oldest school of oenology, in Conegliano. Like with many crossings, the wines that result from the two parent grapes totally elide thier typical descriptions. This wine opens with a full bouquet of jasmine, ripe citrus, and a some orange peel, while the palate delivers a flavorsome and full expression of honied citrus, golden apple, and just a touch of starfruit that sits weighty on the palate but finishes bright with real complexity.
