A wine that will really need food to shine, the Château de Mon Père will shine beside bold red meats like a standing rib roast, or a pan-seared strip steak with au poivre sauce. It will also play very well with an earthy mushroom risotto, or mushroom ragù over pappardelle.
Tasting Notes
Mourvèdre is the signature red grape of the Mediterranean coast of France, both for rosé, and serious red wines alike. The Château de Mon Père opens with notes of plums, cooked cherries, and a touch of garrigue herbs, moving to a bold, brash palate with the same fruit in spades, and tense, rustic tannins.
