Tasting Notes
In Italy, there's more to sparkling than just Prosecco. While this world-famous sparkler has found its way into virtually every restaurant in the world, there is a small Champagne in Northern Italy that's been making waves since the sixties. Franciacorta specializes in traditional method sparkling wine made from Chardonnay, and the bubblers from this region have a steely mineral quality and an easy drinkability that make them perfect for occasions dressed up and down. This wine has some fabulous mineral and saline notes, and some classic yeastiness, your wine-loving friends will hardly be able to tell the difference between this and any of the grand marks.
