Sparkling wine is the best way to begin any event, and this is a perfect aperitif to accompany a hearty "Cheers!" with friends. The richness of this bubbly also makes it a great foil for light, fried shellfish or richer salads like Caesars and big bleu cheese-laden wedges.
Tasting Notes
Despite tasting thousands of sparkling wines, we’re still able to be surprised by little, off-the-beaten path bubblies like this expression from Riberach. A blend of Grenache Gris and Carignan Gris, (two rarely seen mutations), and the Spanish Cava grape, Maccabeu, this wine opens with expressive floral elements, a bit of minerality, and moves to a palate with bouncy, ripe stone fruit, a zippy, citrusy acidity, and a beautifully fresh finish.
