A pitch-perfect wine for anything that comes off the grill, the Canaille will also go very well with most pork dishes like Carnitas, or pork shoulder braised in cider, apples and fennel. Similarly, meatier veggies like roasted eggplant or cauliflower will also be excellent.
Tasting Notes
Although Gamay from Beaujolais has long been celebrated for its approachability, fruitiness, and quality, the same grape has long grown in the Loire Valley, as well. This wine brings the fun, flirtaceousness of Beaujolais, with more tension and minerality, opening with a nose of earth and ripe red berries, while the palate is bright, with lovely, long tannins.
