2021 Domaine de Sentout Elle te Serre

2021 Domaine de Sentout Elle te Serre

TASTING NOTES
The name of the wine, "Elle te Serre," translates to "She serves you," and is a reference to the old vineyards that the winemakers' father planted some fifty years ago. Nicolas Pons, the winemaker, is so adoring of these vineyards that a song about them often makes its way into his setlist on his tours as a musician. Opening with a nose that invites comparisons to some Napa wines from mountain fruit, attractive Eucalyptus and mint greet the nose, along with pure black currant and Italian plum. On the palate, the seriousness of the wine is readily apparent as the fruit deepens, and the superb structure of the bottle begins to show. Firm front-to-back tannin, full, pure fruit, and a lingering, broad finish leave you wanting more.

FOOD PAIRING
Pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops, rosemary steak, or duck breast with a red wine reduction. Its depth and structure also complement mushroom risotto, aged Gouda, or roasted root vegetables with thyme. For a plant-based option, try lentil stew or eggplant parmigiana.
