A full-fruited red like this will benefit from some fattier cuts of meat - a pork chop with a red wine and mushroom sauce, chicken thighs in an herby butter, or even a full-fledged ribeye with bordelaise will all be lovely, or richer veggies like cabbage, beets, or eggplany.
Tasting Notes
A great example of a red blend made in a way that makes the wine greater than the sum of its parts, this 50/50 Cinsault and Malbec utilizes the bright, hedonistic fruitiness of Cinsault, and combines it with the body, and length of Merlot. Opening with a touch of fresh herbs, ripe strawberry, and a bit of graphite, the palate is full and generous, with the same soft red fruits, and a lengthy, supple finish.
