The Wines...
2024 Château Landra Vallée du Rhône
Tasting Notes
A vintage wine from the Rhône, Château Landra's Vallée du Rhône cuvée leads with smoky, blue and red fruit lead by the syrah, moving to a palate with real depth alongside the same stewed and fresh fruit, a streak of smoky minerality, and long, food-friendly tannins.
Food Pairing
The perfect complement to seared duck breast or anything smoked, Landra's Vallée du Rhône is a welcome complement beside anything that comes off the grill, from pork sausages, to grilled beef, to charred hen of the woods mushrooms.

There is both clarity and weight here, a quiet intensity that reflects Gamay at its most honest and expressive.

2023 Domaine de Cinq Chemins A Time for White Flowers
Tasting Notes
Chenin Blanc will forever be one of our favorite grape varieties - of course, not every Chenin is great, but when it sings, it's one of the world's most unique and satisfying whites. This bottling from Chenin's home in Saumur opens with delicate notes of ripe ctirus, salty minerality, and yes, a touch of white flower, while the palate opens with lush fruit, but quickly moves to a focused, intense finish that leaves you wanting more.
Food Pairing
For most white wines from the Loire, raw shellfish is usually a great option, but in this instance, just cooked seafood may be a bit better. Grilled oysters with chili butter and seasoned breadcrumbs, lightly-seared scallops with beurre blanc, or a grilled lobster will all be fabulous, and almost any lighter vegetarian preparation.
