The Wines...

2024 Chateau la Maroquine Chevêche
Tasting Notes
Opening with deep aromas of black cherry, plum, and dried leaves, this southern French red reveals a wild elegance shaped by old-vine character. Coconut and spice weave through the nose, adding lift and intrigue. On the palate, juicy purple fruit and firm tannins take the lead, with vibrant acidity bringing energy and tension. Slightly unruly in its youth, it promises greater harmony with a little time to settle. Bold yet pretty, it’s a wine of texture, depth, and future balance.
Food Pairing
Perfect with herb-crusted lamb, grilled eggplant, lentil stew, or aged Pecorino. Its earthy undertones and lively structure also complement mushroom dishes and hearty autumn fare.

2022 Château Ferran Saint Pierre Bordeaux Supérieur Tradition
Tasting Notes
From the high-elevation slopes of the Haut Benauge plateau, the 2022 Château Ferran Saint Pierre offers a beautiful balance of ripe red fruit, supple texture, and elegant restraint. Notes of plum, black cherry, and a hint of cedar unfold over a silky, medium-bodied palate. A touch of oak adds depth without overpowering, and the tannins are soft and integrated, making for an easy yet refined Bordeaux.
Food Pairing
This approachable Bordeaux is a natural alongside classic French fare. Try it with duck confit, herb-crusted lamb, or mushroom risotto. Its balance of fruit and structure also makes it a great match for roast chicken with root vegetables or a simple charcuterie board with pâté and aged cheeses.

2023 Monteversa Ombra Carmenère
Tasting Notes
Earthy umami and overripe cherry open the glass, layered with dust-touched soil and Bordelais red fruits. Strong tannins carry through a clean, textured mid-palate, with oak adding warmth. Acidity and freshness are a bit muted, so the finish is shorter, but the wine is rich, smooth, and delicious. Carménère is unique to Italy in that it was long misidentified as Cabernet Franc before DNA studies confirmed its identity in Veneto.
Food Pairing
This Carménère’s plush fruit and savory depth make it an excellent partner for grilled lamb chops with rosemary, wild mushroom risotto, or aged Asiago. Its earthy notes also shine with charcuterie or roasted root vegetables.
