The Wines...
2023 Domaine Sérol Nids du Phénix
Tasting Notes
Energy and finesse define this Gamay Saint Romain, where bright red fruits meet an earthy undertone and a touch of mineral tension. Fresh and lifted on the palate, it balances juicy cherry and cranberry with a subtle cool-climate austerity, delivering both vibrancy and depth in equal measure.
Food Pairing
A natural partner for roast chicken, grilled trout, or mushroom risotto. Its brightness also complements charcuterie or a simple lentil salad with herbs and vinaigrette.

2024 Craig and Carla Hawkins Koringplaas
Tasting Notes
A blend of three signature Rhône grapes that have now dug their roots into South African wine culture, the Koringplaas opens with lush cherry and blueberry undergirded by a strong, meaty Syrah streak. On the palate, the wine continues these generous fruit elements, unfolding into many layers of ripe and tart fruits with a lush, mineral finish.
Food Pairing
A pitch-perfect wine for anything that comes off the grill, the Koringplaas will be excellent with lamb chops and chimichurri, marinated beef kabobs, or fire-grilled mushrooms.

Tasting Notes
From the high-elevation slopes of the Haut Benauge plateau, the 2022 Château Ferran Saint Pierre offers a beautiful balance of ripe red fruit, supple texture, and elegant restraint. Notes of plum, black cherry, and a hint of cedar unfold over a silky, medium-bodied palate. A touch of oak adds depth without overpowering, and the tannins are soft and integrated, making for an easy yet refined Bordeaux.
